Herbal Incense: Speedy Highs, K2, and Headaches
76Issues Around Herbal Incense Products Like K2 Summit
There is much talk and maybe even some concern over related headaches after the use of some synthetic marijuana blends. What I have experienced and read over the last year leads me to believe that the amount that you take has a lot to do with the few "side effects" that users have experienced using products like K2 Summit and other popular name brand herbal blends.
Let's face it, there are a lot of blends being cooked up in less than ideal or safe environments to say the least (if you do not believe me then check out some of the characters selling the stuff on popular websites like Ebay and Amazon as some of them actually post photos of themselves on their profiles). Figure that 3 grams of herbal incense would cost the average guy very little to make. Let's say he has at least a high school education, can read, has internet access, and can follow directions. Herbal blends can be produced with items bought online, and easily produced in large batches.
JWH-018
The Compound
What is JWH-018?
JWH-018 is the active ingredient in these herbal incense blends, it is a chemical compound. It was invented by Dr. John W. Huffman, an organic chemist at Clemson University. It is basically a synthetic analogue of THC, the principal active component of marijuana. It’s very close to THC but different enough that it’s legal (well, for the time being it is), although it’s not sold for human consumption (hence the "not for human consumption" decal on the back of most packaging). JWH-018 can be purchased on the web, and it is legal to do so.
Anyone can combine various herbs and other materials, spray them with the JWH-018, package it, and sell it as incense. The more spray, the more powerful it will be. The idea is to use cheap herbs that mirror the aroma and consistency of pot. Most if not all of the high users experience from herbal incense comes from the chemical. It is sold under many brand names, K2, Serenity Now, and the infamous Spice (Silver, Gold).

The Seedy Side of the Herbal Smoke Trade
The problem I see here is that we have a lucrative trade for anyone to get into and sell their products online to anyone (this is not really the problem). The real problem arises when herbal incense dealers get greedy and start to cheap out on the filler of the incense. Hell, one of the bags I bought online looked like someone went out in his front yard and just picked up a bunch of twigs and leaves and broke them up, sprayed a little JWH-018 on it and put it in dime bags. I got ripped off basically and while that sucks I knew that was a possibility when taking a risk on an unheard of home brew brand of herbal incense.
The best advice I can give is to do your own research on an unheard home brewed herbal blend. If they have been around for awhile then there will be reviews on the internet or at least some chatter about it in forums and social media sites. If you only find one review that is glowing, just consider that to be the same guy selling it. What you want to do is find enough different comments and reviews in different places about the product to make a sound decision. Also, consider the fact that one time weed dealers are shifting over to herbal incense because the risks are less, the opportunity to make money is increased, and they can sell there product anywhere in the world really.
Do you trust big herbal incense names like K2, Spice, and Zohai Rx? Well, I have to say I don't really. However, their products seem to get the best reviews and I feel that so far, of the herbal blends that I have sampled, K2 Summit and other big names are the best of the bunch.
One thing does really puzzle me and that is the fact that none of the K2, Spice, or home brewed herbal incense products I have purchased have been sealed. Does anyone know the reason for this? Is it because it is sold as incense and not for human consumption that the bag is a zip-lock rather than being sealed? Something tells me this might be the loophole in which companies (organizations) like K2 can keep operating.
Side Effects of Herbal Incense: Take it Easy
Back to the headaches and speedy sensations that users are experiencing. My advice to those that are having uncomfortable headaches and a speedy sensations that are prolonged and uncomfortable is to slow it down and do much less. I would not want to take a big bong load of herbal incense, frankly that would be a waste of money. Take a dugout or a one hitter (they look like ceramic cigarettes) and pack it full of K2 or your favorite brand of herbal incense. You will get two decent sized hits, you will save some money, and you will most likely not have any noticeable side effects (and get a pretty good high for an hour or two).

Working Out on K2 Summit and other Herbal Blends
To combat the speedy feeling that you often experience right after
the use of herbal incense, why not try doing something physical? I
often will lift weights or do some other aerobic activity. You have the
energy right? Then why not make use of the extra kick and do something
positive. For years weight lifters have been using THC to enhance
their workouts, K2 Summit and other herbal incense can enhance workouts
too as JWH-018 mimics the effects of THC. If you get a chance watch
"Pumping Iron" the documentary on Arnold Schwarzenegger (see image above
with young Arnie with a joint).
This blog is intended as informational and for entertainment purposes only. Use herbal incense at your own risk. In no way shape or form am I promoting the use of synthetic marijuana or herbal incense blends. Use it responsibly and never get behind the wheel under the influence.

I have been smoking k2 and you only need two good hits and your off. It is better than pot but doesn't last as long. Hope it's safe. I don't get headaches from it.

The brands that I have been buying at local head shops are always sealed, never zip-lock style. Also, the reason that they're legal is that because of the "not for human consumption" label. With this label, the manufacturers are not required to post the ingredients of the contents in the bag. Making this stuff appear harmless.
